The crystal structure of rat farnesyl transferase, resolved by Park et al. (15), is available to Protein Data Bank (19) with the identification code 1FT1. The following figure shows that the crystal contains a very large amount of water molecules. In all simulations performed during this docking study, these water molecules are kept.
The red ribbon shows the beta subuint and the yellow ribbon shows the alpha subunit. The waters molecules are displayed with light blue CPK and zinc ion is dark yellow.
